People come and people go;

Many of my friends have been back in Singapore from their mission trips, overseas holidays. Really thank God for keeping them safe and for the journey mercies that have been granted. And yes, they are back with gifts... it's sweet of them to remember me even when they are away. Thank you so much.

From Korea...

Win the campus today, win the world tomorrow!

From Taiwan...

And as people come back, people go away too. Just as friends remember me when they are abroad, I'll remember people who are away.

Stay in touch.

And the end of the coming week will spell another end to something as well. These are the gifts I've prepared. I seriously think that I'm going to miss them. Their laughter, their fun-lovingness, and ... ...

I've learnt a lot. Will elaborate in another post on this point.

Went for Blastoff on Wednesday, and met up with brothers and sisters in Christ, saw how they enjoyed the games and all. Worship was great and the msg that was delivered was inspiring. What the speaker said make sense to me and it makes me want to do something, to sacrifice something to just to spend time with God, to be renewed by Him, and be transformed. I want to abide in Him always.
I also got to know many crusade seniors who are into teaching and they gave me more insights to the attachments now in sch and how it actually works. Really, I feel so blessed to know them, to see their love for teaching.
Now that med and sci crusade have combined, our ministry is now officially called Medical Science Crusade. It's a pleasant feeling and emotion seeing familar faces in Med Crusade, Evan, Lydia, Si Hui, Sheena, Joanne and more... It must be God's plan that I must know these people somehow; cos I joined med crusade in yr 1 cos of friends and schedule, and i switched to sci crusade last sem cos of the problem in schedule. And now, med and sci are one big family, isn;t it fate? God has a wonderful way to let people's paths cross. And I'm amazed by it, truly amazed.
The journey from pgp to the bus stop was a good time for catching up with seniors and friends. The sneiors are mostly on attachments now, be it in schools or in hospitals. And I think that the med seniors are so busy, having to go to the hospitals in the mornings to the afternoons, and having to go back to sch for lectures and tutorials. But, I'm sure that by God's grace, they will pull through it... Pray that we'll all shine for God wherever we are, and in whatever we do.
Be renewed, spend time alone with God, see Him face to face, and be transformed.

2 Cor 4:16- Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.
Remember when you loved reading? Rediscover the joy of reading.
I'm trying hard to do so. You know what it is loke when there is always things to do. Frequent trips to the library get less frequent with age. From completing 2 books a week to only 1 book a month...
I have been reading the latest novel by Nicholas Sparks. It brought me back to the times in sec sch when reading was much emphasized. Reading not only can improve one's command of language, it can also bring the reader into the writer's world, sometimes even allowing one to forget any trouble of the day.
Reading is much like watching tv; as the reader turns through the pages, he can withness how the story is being laid out. The only difference is that the reader needs more imagination and focus to do so.
How much I love to read. I wish I have more time to read. Reading is fun.

Beautiful Memories Since 2001/2002

I know it's cheesy, but I can't help it.
Have i really grown more sentimental?
Janice is back in Singapore! But only a few days for her bro's commencement... hmm, looks like there's many people whom I know of who's graduating or has graduated this July... Anyway, she called, and I'm so happy to hear from her after such a long time. Hope you have enjoyed your hols... see you soon when sch starts (again) in Aug... and in the meantime, keep in contact via email or msn...
And then, just now, Sharon called. She's back too, from missions. Glad that she's fine and still energetic... well, we talked about going for Blastoff, the Crusade Freshmen Camp. I guess I'm joining them only for 1 day, or 1/2 a day rather because of other committments... well, hope to catch up with her real soon.
Really, I thank God for providing people and friemds whom I can rely on... friends whom I can depend on. I was just feeling down about Min Sin's pending departure to Aust tommorrow, and the next moment, God send friends to talk to me... I really felt much better.
I don't know why. I don't remember feeling this down when Gi left for Aust a few years ago. Perhaps I've grown to be more sentimental. I'm going to make more effort to maintain this friendship albeit of the distance. I'm going to guard this 6-year friendship. It's God's plan that we met and became friends and stayed as good, close friends all these years. I'm not going to let the distance and circumstance pull us apart. I don't know when we'll meet again after tommorrow. But no matter what, I'm going to preserve this friendship.

I woke up to the smell of the rain.
Oh, how much do I miss that smell.
It brings me back to the feeling of missing someone.
The strong wind that blows against my face and head
Always brings my trouble away.
I like walking in the rain,
Soaking my skin in the slightly acidic rain.
I wish it will not stop raining,
For I enjoy a rainy day.
I like the rain,
I'm bracing myself up for a long day ahead today.

It has been some time since I wrote something here... well, I've been busy... busy with work, tuition, not busy sitting at home... As mentioned in my earlier posts, I will be doing relief teaching till the new sem starts in Aug... Work, so far has been all right, just that sometimes, you need to think of a less confusing, more direct way of explaining certain concepts to the students. I understand that for I have been through sec sch and I'm glad that I have teachers who can explain concepts to them, so, I'm just hoping that I can do that too. The thing about work is that whenever my day ends, I will be too tired to go anywhere. But the moment I reach home, I will regret not going out. I'm always in a dilemma... oh my. I guess I need more time to adjust. Give me some time, and I'm sure this will get better. And like all students, I'm actually looking forward to today, the youth day holiday. Most teachers will not be like me I guess. But I need this break to recharge and to refresh myself... Cherish today, for the next sch holiday will be the National Day holiday which is more than one month away! Enough about school... I do have a social life apart from school and tuition...

Friday's gathering cum dinner cum games at Settlers' was great. It was a wonderful session, with dinner, catching-up, presents exchanging and photo taking...

I didn't expect Settlers' to be located at such an isolated part of Holland V, but I guess given it's well known name, nobody will get lost... hopefully not...
Below are some pictures from Friday...

Scrapbook in the making...
My personal fav... not because I'm a fan of Mayday...
Msg from Gi to Jie... are you touched?

Hmm, what should we have?

The Starters

The Main Course... I think Cajun Chicken is worth trying...

The dessert...
I think it is not the food that make Settler a worthwhile place to visit, but rather, Settler shines on its ambience, service, and the games...

The first game of the night- Take Six... not too bad...

Trying to figure out which dice to keep to maximise chance of winning a prize...

Can't believe my luck that night...

The igloo game... played with the most noise due to the nature of the game, not the nature of those playing...

Pigs in love...

Trying to get an artistic shot...

Everyone's happy with their presents... I hope Nic Sparks will have his next bk publish soon... anyway, I think one of my proudest achievements in my twenty years of life is to have read every bk tt Sparks wrote... I think I will try to complete the John Grisham's collection... hmm.

Finally, a group pic...

The STAR of the night... everyone was busy taking pics with it...
btw, I was the person holding this bear upright... that's why the pic looks so good...

Sunday was the day when I met up with Lydia. We have been busy with sch the last sem that we didn't even get to meet once last sem to study together. Really miss those times when we will meet at West Mall or Anchorpoint to mug... those were really the times. And so, yesterday, we met at good, old West Mall for lunch. It's a pity that we couldn't spend more time together... but we have thought of going back to St Margs one of these days...
btw, the Miso crucnch taste from yesterday's lunch was still in my mouth when i woke up this morning... just a random remark...

Going out with mum to Orchard later... i'm a Mummy's girl... haha
