Darkness = Absence of light.
Rest = Absence of work?
Well, the above equality may not hold. If we don't work, how will we know what rest is. Also, for some workaholics, they may feel lost and uneasy without work.
Work had been created by God right from the beginning, and we should do whatever God work give us to with pride, as it is a way of honouring Him. That said, I'm now motivated to honour God as a student, in other words, I will study hard. Hopefully, I can truly be a testimony for God, both through the process as well as with the end results.

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3: 17

I walked to West Coast park this morning. I immersed myself in the nature, allowing the strong breeze to take those burdens away. No burdens exactly, just want to give myself a retreat and be somewhere where I don't see those upsetting, grey concrete buildings. I want to see the seemingly endless sea and hopefully to get some inspirations and motivations along the way. The breeze was so strong that I had momentarily thought that my entire physical body will be carried away too. I managed to finish reading a book; I had intended to want to read some of my notes too, but the winds made that challenging. But for now, I'm satisfied.

The Straits Times Life! reported that chick lits are one of the most popular genres of books borrowed by Singaporeans and as such, NLB is stocking up more such books. Yes, I welcome this move! Btw, are the Sweet Valley and Babysitter series considered chick lits for the young?
I rediscover that I like heart-warming fiction and autobiographies. I was so happy yesterday when I chanced upon 2 books that I had long wanted to read at the Sci library. Didn't know that sci lib has such good reads. =) Shall venture to Central lib one day; they should have more books there...
I'm currently into watching 大學生了沒! Each episode revolve around a topic and the hosts will engage the uni students in the discussions. They talk about all things under the sun; from uni hostels to diets to frivolous events and activities. And because of a recent episode, the one on reading, I've decided to start logging in the books that I've read. This is also one of my attempts to become more organized with my life.

New year brings in new hopes. This year, I pray for courage to find new goals, and strength to achieve them.
On the lighter side, because of the new year, I get to watch the many countdown shows from Taiwan, though more often than not, I only know the more popular acts.

Goodbye 2009, Hello 2010.
Let's pray that 2010 will be a better year than 2009; environmentally, economically, socially.
